My Rating System

I've been in Vegas since 1993 and I'm telling you up front that the difference between professional gamblers that make money and amateurs who lose it is that the pros, like myself, adhere to a strict money management system.

I rate my plays on a progressive 100 Unit to 1000 Unit basis with the highest rating representing the strongest play.

If you don't wager accordingly, and by that I mean using the proper percentage of your bankroll based on the rating of my releases, you're doomed for failure. Mismanagement of funds is the biggest mistake amateur gamblers make.

Let me give you an example:

If you've got $500 to play with tonight, and I come with a 1000 Unit Best Bet and a 500 Unit bonus release, that means I've got a total of 1500 Units of action on the table. Now, take that $500 bankroll and divide it by 1500. That gives you a per unit cost of about .33. Next, do the simple math:

On the 1000 Unit play you should be wagering $333 of your total $500 bankroll (which is 1000 times your per unit cost of .33)

On the 500 Unit play you should be wagering the balance, which is $167 (which is 500 times your per unit cost of .33).

Remember - NEVER bet more than you can afford to lose, and you'll always stay out of trouble.

Who is Bobby Max?

I am a gambler, just like you.

A professional sports bettor who makes his money winning games.

This is my livelihood; what I do 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

With a face like this, you think I'm winning any beauty contests?

My given name is Robert Maxwell, but my friends and clients know me as Bobby Max.

I arrived in Sin City in 1993, journalism degree in hand, and a talent for picking winners I developed as a kid growing up in a small Southwestern Oklahoma town. Being a big-time gambler in a small podunk town doesn't fly, but anything goes in Vegas.

As a journalist, I've covered every professional and collegiate sport you can imagine. I've been on in lockerrooms, on the field, and in the company of athletes and coaches. Those experiences as a writer have allowed me to understand the games they play. I'm well aware of the "too good to be true" plays - and smart enough to stay away from them.

The key in this business is spotting bad lines and bad situations for teams and players. Remember, all the oddsmakers want to do is to get even money on each side of a game. That's their goal. Mine is spotting the obvious mistakes the linemaker makes daily and believe me, they make mistakes, some big, some small, and they're waiting to be exploited, and that's what I do best.

Do I win everyday? Of course not, but anyone who claims to in this business is a liar and a fraud. But, over the long-term I will win and make you money if you follow my money management system and unload on big plays when I come with them.

Today's Complimentary Selection

I made it four straight days of FREE winners on Monday with the Giants as they shut out the D'Backs in Arizona in extra innings. I'm back on the diamond for a comp winner tonight and staying in the desert for another play on San Francisco. If you're looking for yet another baseball winner, visit my site and grab my 300-Unit Book Buster in the key A.L. East matchup at Fenway Park.

For today's freebie, the Giants have been able to do enough during the San Diego losing streak to bring themselves within a game of the N.L. West lead. Today, look for them to shut down the D’Backs just like they did on Monday.

I know Giants’ starter Tim Lincecum didn’t look very good in August, losing all five of his starts in the month and giving up three runs or more in all five starts. But the calendar turned to September and he looked like his old self with the Wednesday start at home against the Rockies, limiting them to one run on five hits over eight innings and striking out nine en route to the 2-1 victory.

Lincecum’s last start in Arizona came on July 25 when he gave up two runs in eight innings of a 3-2 Giants’ victory. The Giants have won three of his last five starts against the D’Backs and the Giants just shut them out for 11 innings on Monday afternoon.

Barry Enright (6-2, 2.45 ERA) goes for Arizona tonight and he’s looked very good the last few months for the D’Backs. Since July 11 he hasn’t allowed an opponent to score more than three runs and he’s held the Giants to two runs in 13 innings this season.

San Francisco has won nine of the last 11 meetings with the D’Backs and they are 20-8 over the last 28 head-to-head clashes. The Giants are 5-0 in the last five as a road favorite, 12-5 against losing teams and 19-9 as a favorite. With Lincecum on the hill, they are also on surges of 16-7 when he’s a favorite and 4-0 when he’s a road chalk.

Let’s play the Giants in this one as they have pulled themselves right back into the race and Lincecum isn’t going to struggle in this one. Play San Francisco.
